Mudbound

I could not put this down; I bought it at night, read half and finished it the next day. Wow! Set in the south just after the second World War,  two families tell the tale from alternating member's points of view. There were horrifying aspects of the book; but still and all it is /extremely/ readable. Barbara Kingsolver said, "This is storytelling at the height of it's powers."
