Finally, I kept on with my historical kick and read the new Philippa Gregory novel, The White Queen.

I am relieved to admit that Gregory has gotten her stride back! Her last attempt failed to grab me and I feared that she was on a turn for the worse. With her newest though, she has gone back to her single-narrator story (as she did in The Constant Princess), and the result is a compelling tale of love, loss, and occasionally some witchcraft. I learned more about the mother of the two princes who were allegedly murdered by their uncle Richard in the Tower of London, although Gregory throws in her own special form of speculation and fictional ideas of what really happened.

If you're a Philippa fan, this is a must read!
