Passion on the Vine

Passion on the Vine by Sergio Espisito, new in paperback, is a memoir about food and wine and families, all of which the author loves, as do I.  I enjoyed reading this non fiction book as much as any novel - it was pure joy to experience the awakening of Sergio's palate and to see how his big family and the appreciation for simple foods made such a difference in his life.  I so agree with so much of what he professes.  He is the kind of writer I hope to meet some day (next time I am in NY!)  Sergio was born in Naples, Italy then moves with his family to Albany, NY. When he grows up he moves to NYC, and there opens the Italian Wine Merchant, to introduce wonderful Italian wines to the world.  He and his family travel the world and visit Italy often, where he refines his tastes on good simple food and delicious wines.  Pure joy to read, I loved every word.
